Sarah's Lazy Day Cobbler

1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp. Baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 cup milk
1 lg. can fruit** (drained)
Cinnamon (to sprinkle on top)
1 stick butter or margarine (1/2 cup)

Place butter or margarine in 9x13" pan. Melt in oven. Mix together 1 cup of the sugar, flour, baking powder and salt. Add milk and mix to a smooth batter with hand whisk. Pour over melted butter; don't stir. Empty fruit over batter. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Bake at 350* for 30 minutes. Batter will rise to top and brown. Center test as you would for cake doneness.

** You can use any type of canned fruit-i.e. peaches, cherry pie filling, etc. I got this recipe years ago from a lady my mom babysat for. My family and I love this recipe! It's so easy, but it looks and tastes like you've worked very hard! Sarah loves making this, so I named it after her. :)
